Air Knife/Vacuum Dig Utility Clearance Service
Clearing for underground utilities is a critical step in ensuring safe project execution. MB Drilling can accomplish this task utilizing its specialized fleet of portable and truck mounted air knife-vacuum dig equipment. Specialized small limited-access air knife vacuum digging as well as large capacity high production equipment is available.
GPR/Electromagnetic Survey Services
MB Drilling provides ground penetrating radar in addition to electromagnetic tracing/surveying to identify subsurface anomalies and complement our Air Knife Services.
Monitor/Recovery/Injection Well Installation
Well installation is a routine activity for our business. Our licensed drillers complete wells in accordance with agency regulations to depths of up to 500 feet below ground surface. Well installation and construction consists of various diameters, well materials, casings and design to our clients specifications to assist in achieving their use objectives.
Sonic Drilling
Sonic is a rotary vibratory drill containing an oscillator mechanism that creates high frequency vibratory force on the rods causing material it comes in contact with to liquify. That, coupled with rotary motion allows the drill rod to penetrate both soil and rock. Sonic drilling is excellent for soil and rock core recovery and has very fast penetration under favorable geologic conditions.
Dual Rotary Drilling
MB Drilling is one of a limited number of drilling firms in NJ that uses this proprietary drill. The casing and string are independently rotated and advanced creating a very flexible drilling method that can handle challenging drilling situations with speed and safety. Dual Rotary drilling is excellent in difficult heterogenous overburden - glacial outwash and moraines, alluvial deposits.
Mud Rotary Drilling
Mud Rotary drilling utilizes high capacity positive displacement mud pumps to circulate mud or organic based fluids while drilling in overburden to stabilize the borehole and remove cuttings. A settling pit allows drill cuttings to settle out of the drill mud prior to recirculating back down hole. Mud rotary is primarily utilized in unconsolidated formations.
Air Rotary Drilling
Air Rotary drilling is similar to Mud Rotary drilling but utilizes compressed air as the drilling fluid and various drill bits or down the hole air hammers to efficiently drill bedrock formations. Air Rotary is a high speed drilling method and utilizes minimal or no make up water.
Hollow Stem Auger Drilling
Auger rigs are generally utilized for shallow subsurface investigations (0 to 100 feet below grade) and utilize hollow stem augers of various sizes (typically 3 ¼ inch ID to 10 ¼ inch ID) to sample soil and install monitoring wells in overburden formations. The MB Drilling Auger Drill fleet includes truck, trailer, track and oversized rubber tire mounted drills to accommodate a variety of site conditions and applications.
Geoprobe "Direct Push" Sampling
This versatile drilling method is used to quickly and efficiently collect soil and ground water samples from overburden formations utilizing solid or hollow steel rods to “push” into the subsurface using the static weight and hammer of the drill. Direct Push drilling is typically used in unconsolidated formations with limited large gravel/cobble composition.
Remedial Solution Injection
Drilling and injection is performed with various drilling techniques and a specialized high pressure injection/pumping equipment in overburden or bedrock. MB Drilling works with our clients to obtain equipment for injection systems designed by our clients, assemble them in the field and deploy solution injections per their specifications.
Packer Testing
Packer installation and testing is used to assist our clients in obtaining site specific hydrogeologic data for specified zones in bedrock boreholes. Specialized manifolds, data recording systems and metering systems are available to provide accurate recording of packer test data.
Pump Tests
A wide variety of pumping and flow meter manifold systems are available to accurately record pump test data.
Certified Well Decommissioning/Sealing
MB Drilling has the equipment, knowledge and certifications to properly perform well decommissioning and sealing in accordance with the applicable state agency regulations.
Rock Coring
NQ and HQ wire line rock coring systems are utilized by MB Drilling licensed driller to obtain rock cores of bedrock formations.
Multiport Well Installation
Multiport well installations are performed for economy and efficiency of ground water investigation/remediation systems. MB Drilling crews are experienced in both bedrock and overburden multiport well installations.
Excavation & Test Pitting Services
In addition to our drilling services, MB Drilling can provide experienced crews and required equipment to execute test pit requirements.
Redeveloping, Maintaining, and Chemical Treatment of Wells
MB Drilling has equipment and well-trained crews who specialize in providing Well Pump Maintenance, Well redevelopment and chemical treatment.
